Area Rules

Team captains and players are responsible for understanding the rules that govern our leagues. Each local league area has a set of rules for league play, however USTA League is largely built on the National and Sectional regulations. You can find all of that information here.

Captain Resources

Captains are a very important part of the USTA League program. Leading a league team is undoubtedly a lot of work, but we hope it’s also a rewarding commitment that serves both your team and tennis as a whole. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re a veteran captain, we are here to help you lead your teams to victory on and off the court!

Area Recognition

USTA Southern California appreciates and honors those who go above and beyond to make our Leagues the best in the nation! Consider nominating a fellow League player for one of our Player Recognition awards!

Sportsmanship Awards

It’s time to recognize players and captains who demonstrate good sportsmanship before, during, and after matches. Please take a moment and nominate somebody for your area’s Sportsmanship Award. All nominees will be acknowledged and congratulated on this site. Each season, a winner will be selected from among the nominees, and that person will receive a gift of appreciation from USTA Southern California! Visit the nomination page here.

League Captain of the Year

USTA Southern California understands the value in recognizing and honoring our outstanding USTA League Captains. Without captains, we would have no leagues! The Captain of the Year program honors exceptional captains from each of our 13 league areas. Then, from that pool of award winners, the Section selects an overarching USTA Southern California Captain of the Year. All honorees are celebrated at an annual USTA SoCal banquet. Visit the nomination page here.
