It only takes a spark of competition to ignite a life-long love for a sport. 

The USTA Southern California Youth Leadership Council is thrilled to host their first junior circuit tournament in Pasadena. As the sun rises on April 27th, young tennis enthusiasts will converge at the crisp, blue-green courts of Blair High School for a day filled with exhilarating matches, motivating speeches, and unforgettable camaraderie.

This isn’t the first instance the YLC has campaigned an inspiring event to raise a healthy tennis community. One year prior, the council collaborated with 40 Love Foundation to hold a junior tennis clinic at Edward Vincent Jr. Park, which included interactive games, a book drive, and complementary prizes. Shortly before that, they achieved similar success with an event in Great Park, Irvine. 

This time, however, the YLC aspires to make local youth tennis a bit more interesting. By opening a junior circuit to the Pasadena neighborhood, the YLC hopes that players will gain useful match experience, improve their game, and foster sportsmanship in a competitive setting. As a cherry-on-top, there’ll be exciting giveaways and festivities throughout the morning and afternoon. All of these elements will combine to create a lively, talented atmosphere where athletes can thrive and have fun together. 

The event is set to feature two divisions of 20 players (B10U and G10U Green). For logistical details such as parking and food options, stay tuned for updates closer to the event date. 

Fueled with a hunger to expand the reach of tennis, the YLC is confident that the junior circuit will be a promising success.
