Registration closes on May 29, 2024.
Draws are limited to 64 players (with no qualifying).
The selection process will be based on NSL at the time selection is made. Up to four wild cards may be awarded per draw, to be determined by the USTA Southern California staff.
SEEDING:
This tournament will utilize World Tennis Number (WTN) for seeding purposes. Ties in WTN are automatically broken by the program (the program recognizes WTN by the hundredth, thousandth, etc).
Saturday & Sunday, June 8-9
Play through the Round of 16 (R64, R32, R16).
Friday, June 14
All quarterfinal matches and start of voluntary consolation matches (if needed). Please note that it’s possible that some R16 matches may be played on this day.
Saturday, June 15
All semifinal matches and voluntary consolation matches.
Sunday, June 16
All Finals, 3/4 playoffs, and voluntary consolation matches.
BOYS’ & GIRLS 14-18s
R64, R32, R16:
Two out of three sets with a ten point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set with a three minute break for coaching between the second set and the match tiebreak, regular scoring.
Quarterfinals, Semifinals, 3/4 Playoffs, Finals:
Best two out of three tiebreak sets (full third set) with a 10-minute rest period with coaching between the second and third set, regular scoring.
All Consolation Matches:
Two out of three sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set with a 3 minute break for coaching between the second set and the match tiebreak, NO-AD scoring.
BOYS’ & GIRLS’ 12s
All Matches (Main Draw & Consolation):
Two out of three sets with a ten point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set with a three minute break for coaching between the second set and the match tiebreak. Regular scoring for all main draw matches (including 3/4 playoffs); NO-AD scoring for all consolation matches.
Voluntary consolation will be offered to first match losers. VC will start as early as Friday, June 14th. If you cannot play or intend to play in another tournament the weekend of June 15-16, please do not enter the consolation as this will lead to double entry penalties.
Voluntary Consolation only applies to the following:
- Players that lose in the first round of the main draw
- Players who have advanced to the second round of the main draw via bye then lose in the second round
- Players who have advanced to the third round of the main draw via double-bye then lose in the third round.
- IMPORTANT! Players who advance to the second round of the main draw via walkover/withdrawal/default/retirement that lose in the second round of the main draw CANNOT be added to the voluntary consolation draw!
The deadline to enter in the Voluntary Consolation (VC) is Tuesday, June 11th at 5PM. Please email Eric at lakewood10s@gmail.com if you would like to enter. You MUST email Eric in order to be placed into the consolation draw. Consolation will start as early as Friday, June 14th (no time requests). Please do not enter if you do not intend to play.
IMPORTANT: IF YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO ANY TOURNAMENT THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 15TH, YOU ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THE VOLUNTARY CONSOLATION. FURTHERMORE, IF YOU ARE ON AN ALTERNATE LIST FOR A TOURNAMENT ON JUNE 15-16, YOU MUST REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE ALTERNATE LIST AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THE VOLUNTARY CONSOLATION.
Failure to comply will result in removal from both tournaments as well as suspension points.
Each day during Junior Sectionals, two players are acknowledged as Player of the Day not just for their competitive accomplishments, but also for their spirit and sportsmanship.

Winners of Boys’ and Girls’ 18s singles at the USTA Southern California Junior Sectional Championships will receive a wild card entry into a summer 2024 SoCal Pro Series (USTA Pro Circuit) event. Runner-up finishers will receive a qualifier entry at a SoCal Pro Series event.
In Boys’ and Girls’ 16s, the champions at Junior Sectionals will also receive qualifier slots in a summer 2024 SoCal Pro Series event.
