Tournaments returning in March as new registration platform launches at USTA.com

The long-awaited return of USTA tournaments has arrived, with competition set to begin in some Southern California regions as early as March 6, and registration for many of these springtime events has opened on the recently-launched nationwide tournament platform at USTA.com.

As restrictions are slowly rolled back, many areas still remain under strict COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. USTA Southern California will continue to follow state and county recommendations when sanctioning events in our Section.

“We are excited to bring back a sense of normalcy to the Southern California tennis community,” said Director of Adult Tennis Madeline Segura. “We will continue to emphasis safety protocols at all tournaments and League events for the foreseeable future. Creating a safe and healthy environment remains our top priority.”

While some National events have been hosted in SoCal early in 2021, this will mark the first time in the new year that USTASoCal sanctioned tournaments will return to the calendar.

“Our junior players are eager to return to a regular slate of tournaments and Net Generation events,” said Trevor Kronemann, Director of Junior Tennis. “The best way for us to nurture the growth of our players is to get them back on the court when conditions allow.”

NEW HOME FOR USTA TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION

To coincide with the return of tournament play, USTA.com has launched a new online platform for event registration. After 19 years, TennisLink is no longer the source for finding and registering for USTA and USTA Southern California tournaments. Those interested in registering for these events will now begin their search at https://playtennis.usta.com/tournaments.

Using search filters, players can narrow their tournament results by date, region, play level, and more. To enter an event, simply click the appropriate level and category, enter your USTA member number, and complete the registration.

Information about SoCal tournaments can also be found at USTAsocal.com. You can click on any tournament listed in our Junior and Adult Tournament Calendars to be directed to the tournament homepage.

Those seeking rankings information can find listings here. Rankings are updated weekly by the USTA National office.

Please note that USTA Leagues and Junior Team Tennis will remain on the TennisLink platform. General information about SoCal Adult Leagues and Junior Team Tennis can be found at USTAsocal.com.
