USTA suspends Fall Junior Team Tennis season

The USTA Junior Team Tennis Fall season has been suspended, the Section announced today. The decision was made based on state guidelines and continued concern for the health and safety of players during the COVID-19 pandemic.

All player credits for those registered via USTA TennisLink for the 2020 JTT Spring season will be extended through Spring, 2021. This excludes players who were registered for 18U teams.

Parents and players are encouraged to contact local providers to learn about ongoing tennis activities throughout the coming months. In an effort to keep players engaged during this period, providers across the Section will have the ability to develop Team Challenges and inter-squad Junior Circuit Round-Robin play via the new USTA provider platform, “Serve Tennis.”

In addition, the new USTAsocal.com website will launch a directory of JTT providers later this year, providing easy access for parents seeking tennis facilities and programs for their children.

For 10U players, USTA encourages earning Youth Progression Points by taking advantage of At Home/On Court video submissions during this suspension of play. By completing various drills and challenges and then submitting video of the completed task, players can earn Progression Points without leaving their home!
